For filing I use the program the german vcersion of “Family Tree Maker (FMT)”. An English demo version could be downloaded for free at http://familysearch.org.

Alternately the larger family parts are listed graphically in the german genealogical data base GEDBAS at the Association for Computer Genealogy. A search engine is available there, too.

The following simple lists are available here:                           

1. Descendants of Toni from Kemme. This list represents  the main family part of the Roffmanns in the form of a family line. It is the biggest one regarding of the number of persons. The people from this list are not yet be researched completely. There is an enormous number of male descendants whose whereabouts and those of their descendants is not yet clear.

2. Descendants of Jacob from Equord. This list contents the second biggest family line. It deals with the families who served the Earls to Hammerstein and Equord. A link to list 1 could only be supposed.

3. Descendants of Johann Heinrich from Mehrum. This again is a rural family part as is in list 1. Nearly as comprehensive as the Equord part, this list again includes persons whose whereabouts are not clear. The connection to the main line of the family is still missing, too.

4. Descendants of Friedrich Johann from Equord. Here again are missing links to one of the bigger family parts. There is no doubt because of the local neighborhood.

5. Descendants / family parts in or from East and West Prussia. At least since about 1850 Roffmanns are to be found at the Kurisches Haff. It is possible that there are layers in the Danzig region  and in Schlesien, too. Here we are still at the beginning of our research.

6. Collection  of American family parts. This list contains of persons  who up to now could be researched in North America and who could be combined.
